How to putting air in tires?

Even though it looks trivial, tire pressure has an important role in maintaining several things such as fuel consumption, safety, and comfort while driving. In addition, the appropriate tire pressure recommended by the manufacturer also maintains tire life.

So, to reach the best usage of your car tire life, better fuel consumption, safety, etc., we need to maintain the tire pressure regularly. We need to putting more air in tires if they start to deflate or tire pressure is not under the manufacturer's recommendations. The question is, how to putting air in tires ?

Before putting air in tires, you need some things to prepare before ensuring the right process. Here are the things you need to prepared

Service station with an air hose
Portable air compressor (optional)

After all the things are ready, then this is how to putting air in tires

1. Check tires pressure

The first step on how to putting air in tires that you must do is to check the tyre pressure before adding new air. Check your tires pressure with a tyre pressure gauge to ensure which tires need to add more air because your tires may be underinflated and you don't realize. It's better to check your tire pressure when it's in a cool condition, for example, in the morning or about one hour after driving.

2. Compare the gauge reading against the manufacturer's recommended pressure

Reference the gauge reading and the manufacturer's recommended pressure found on the door jamb or your owner's manual. If your tire pressure's low, you need to add more air until the recommended pressure.

Go to a service station with an air hose, or you can purchase a portable air compressor and stash it in your trunk so you can putting air in tires independently. If you go to a service station, remember that not all service station air hoses are free. Bring spare change to make it works.

3. Make sure the air hose reaches all tires and turn on the compressor

Pull your car up to the compressor and hose. It should reach all four tires and turn the compressor on by inserting your coins or following the posted directions.

4. Remove the valve stem cap and inflate tires one by one

Twits the valve stem cap by turn on counterclockwise to start putting air in a car tire. Place the air hose fitting on the valve stem and press down. You'll hear the air inflating the tire. Wait for the air inflating the tire for a few seconds and read the gauge on the air hose if it has one. It will let you know when you are close to the right amount.

Suppose you feel airflow around the valve stem. In that case, you need to fix the air hose fitting placement position because you don't have a tight connection.

5. Recheck tire pressure to manufacturer's recommended pressure

Turn out the air hose fitting from the valve stem and recheck the pressure with your tire pressure gauge to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.

If the pressure's too high, press down on the pin inside of the valve stem and let some air out. Recheck and repeat the inflating air process if it's still not the recommended amount.

6. Put back the valve stem cap

Put back the valve stem cap and twist in a clockwise direction until it closes the valve stem tightly. The valve stem cap is used to protect the valve stem from dirt and mud. It also prevents the tyre from losing air directly when the valve stem is going bad.

7. Repeat the inflating process on the other three wheels

Repeat the inflating process on the other three wheels if they need to add more air. Do it from step 4 above until step 6 to inflate car tires.
