Engine Flush Benefits And Uses

Engine Flush Benefits And Uses

Along with the distance travelled and the vehicle used time, engine performance will generally decline. One system that impacts engine performance is the lubrication system in which engine oil plays its main role.

Use the wrong engine oil, the engine oil replacement is not on time, or using too many oil additives can be a problem for your car engine's lubrication system.

The appearance of oil crust in the engine and sludge deposits are often encountered due to improper maintenance and exceeding usage limits. As a result, engine oil's function will be reduced, and your engine will lack lubrication.

Engine Flush Benefits And Uses

Therefore, many liquids are specially formulated to reduce and even shed scale and oil deposits in the engine. This fluid is known as the Engine Flush.

What are engine flush and its benefit?

As previously explained, Engine Flush is a specially formulated fluid used to shed scale and oil sludge lodged in the engine.

That means the crusts from the remaining oil stuck in the engine, such as the cylinder head, camshaft, valve, oil pump, crankshaft, main gallery, will be eroded so that the engine can work better than before.

That way, the engine's oil flow will be smoother, so it can lubricate every part of the engine as a whole.

Here are other benefits of using an engine flush

1. Prepares your engine for new oil

An engine flush helps loosen sticky rings or valves and remove harmful sludge and other contaminants. It ensures the new engine oil functions as intended and delivers maximum protection. The new oil won’t last as long or protect if it contaminates with sludge and deposits from the previous oil.

2. Helps reduce heat

Extreme heat reduces engine efficiency while increasing the rate of oil oxidation (chemical breakdown). Yes, excessive heat is bad for your engine and oil—the sludge and sludge act as an insulator preventing the engine from releasing heat as designed. Cleaning deposits with an engine flush can help the engine properly manage heat for optimal efficiency and oil life.

3. Helps increase fuel efficiency

Contaminants circulating throughout the engine oil can lead to oil breakdown and increased viscosity. Higher-viscosity oil requires more energy to circulate throughout the engine and also increases resistance that wastes fuel to overcome. Cleaning the engine helps ensure parts move efficiently, increasing fuel economy.

4. Helps reduce emissions

If deposits in the piston-ring lands cause the rings to stick, oil can migrate into the combustion chamber, where it burns. That not only leads to harmful deposits, it also increases exhaust emissions as the burned oil exits the tailpipe. A good engine flush helps free stuck rings and reduce oil consumption, in turn reducing emissions.

When we use engine flush?

Several types of modern vehicles currently have engine oil change intervals every 6,000 miles accompanied by oil filter changes (depending on the conditions of vehicle use, if the conditions of use on rough terrain are usually recommended at 3000 miles without changing filters), where this will affect the usage pattern of the Engine Flush itself.

Use of Engine Flush should be done in conjunction with replacing the Oil Filter. The more frequent the interval, the better. But if you want to be more economical, you can also use the Engine Flush when changing the oil filter twice (use an engine flush once every 12,000 miles).

How to use engine flush?

An engine flush is used before engine oil change. This liquid is used together with the previous engine oil that is still inside the engine. For more details, here's how to use Engine Flush

Engine Flush Benefits And Uses 1

  1. Insert one can of engine flush into the engine before changing the oil, and preferably the engine has been preheated.
  2. Start the engine and let it idle for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Drain out the engine oil while the engine is still hot, don't forget to tighten the engine oil drain plug sufficiently. Becareful on this step!!
  4. Remove the old oil filter.
  5. Install a new oil filter.
  6. Put new oil into the engine.

How to choose engine flush?

Here are some tips you can do when choosing an engine flush

  • We recommend that you use the manufacturer's recommended Engine Flush because generally tests and trials have been carried out on the existing vehicle types.
  • Make sure the type of Engine Flush is used; you should look for specific to your car engine type (petrol or diesel).
